Art On The Farm...

Welcome to Art On The Farm, a place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city
and enjoy creating art.

When we rehabbed our family farm near Freeburg, Illinois, my overriding desire was to use it for an artists’ retreat — renting it for a day, several days or weekends. It’s perfect for workshops, seminars or just a personal getaway. Instructors can utilize it for classes of up to eight.

The farm is located just a stone's throw from the Kaskasia River with woods and open fields and abundant wildlife all around. It is perfect for classes, hobbyists and artists who work in glass fusion, jewelry, pottery, basketmaking, watercolor, pastels, photography, spinning, weaving — you name it. Looms and pottery tools are located on site, as well as a kiln.

Art On The Farm is also available for small events such as showers, club and family gatherings.

Or, how about a "make it and take it" fiber workshop with Schacht looms? Schedule a day with three friends for projects you make, then take home — purses, table runners, a scarf or whatever! Prewarped looms and 6 hours of peace and quiet while creating your very own masterpiece will make it a fun day!

We're also seeking instructors who want space for workshops in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Rentals can be for the day or weekend. Maximum class size of eight. Conduct a workshop with your students at this country farm house.
